It absolutely rocked. Start to finish, the entire thing, 100% smashing. The 3D was a plus.

Now I can safely show up to io9 and read all the spoiler-y articles.

I wanna see more Poe/Finn hijinks.

And fuck you, Ben Solo.

Saw that last week with my son. Very nice movie, indeed.

I want to say though, that 2D IMAX is the way to see it. By Friday, I will have seen the movie 4 times. 3 of them in IMAX 2D.

I wanted to see it flat, wound up watching Real3D (time constraints), and was really turned off by the in your face 3D and the jitter introduced during action scenes. Avoid Real3D.

My favorite scene was when Ren lost his shit in the prison room and two stormtroopers walk down the hallway, see the sparks, and go “Nope, fuck this, k bye”

I wanted to watch it flat but due to sold out tickets I ended watching to 3D one which was still very enjoyable

It was better than some 3D movies I have been conned into in recent years...

The only reason I watched it in 3D was that a guy in front of me in line turned around to ask me if I wanted to see it in 3D, I said I was waiting to buy a 2D ticket, then he asked the next person and the next... Everyone wanted 2D. He said that he had a ticket that was given to him for the next 3D showing that someone gave him and if anyone just wanted it, they could have it (where I live is a little odd sometimes, in a good and bad way). So I ended up going for the cost of a tray of nachos...

Yep, that’s what I like about TFA, it’s humorous without being punny (looking at you, AotC!) or stupid (Jar-Jar).

I managed to avoid all but the biggest spoiler, and watched it New Year’s Eve. It was worth the wait, and while there were definite homages to Eps IV-VI, I don’t think it was a direct ripoff of A New Hope. It didn’t feel quite like when I saw Return in the theater, but it worked for me, and I can’t wait for the next one.

I’m giving it two thumbs up.

“Uh... maybe telling Lord Kylo that Latvala lost again is a bad idea”

I cracked up at that bit.

I actually watched the movie in Japan (thankfully, it was English w/Japanese subtitles) which was kind of funny. But I watched it in IMAX 3D as well. I thought it was a great movie, and if felt like a true Star Wars movie with some elements of modern films, which was cool.

SPOILERS : I laughed when I saw old Mark Hamill just staring at Rey, and of course, I was definitely sad to see one of the old characters get “Kylo Rekt,” but oh well.
